Position Summary Information

Position Summary

• Align Process Technology curricula to utilize upgrades in departmental technology and track student performance in the HSI STEM Grant
• Select and acquire needed equipment/software for Process Technology curriculum
• Work with program Advisory Committee to gain input for integration of active learning strategies and related equipment
• Provide professional development for faculty in active learning strategies; lead integration into curriculum
• Develop evaluation processes for integration of active learning strategies
• Keep Project Manager informed of progress and problems and assist in tracking and evaluating student progress
• Create reports for presentation at meetings to college administration on development of curriculum and technology incorporation
• Support and assist Process Tech Department Chair with coordination of Advisory Committee
• Coordinate with Transfer Specialist on articulation updates with other institution partners

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Process Technology or related field required
• Minimum of four (4) years professional work experience
• Proven ability to work well with industry leaders
• Minimum of three (3) years teaching/training experience in petrochemical industry
• Must show evidence of thorough and accurate knowledge of active learning pedagogies and related equipment
• Must have extensive knowledge of Process Technology needs in the region
• Must be proficient in verbal/written skills with good presentation skills
• Demonstrated curriculum development for training programs
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with maintaining process equipment and the associated instrumentation
• Have demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and repairing process equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Community college teaching experience preferred

Work Hours

Standard 40-hour work week; may include some evening work
Five (5) year, grant funded position to begin January 2017
